Relocation astrology takes the chart you were born with and redraws it for a different spot on the ground. Nothing in the sky moves. What moves is the horizon and the meridian, so the Ascendant, the Midheaven and the houses shift, and different planets get pulled toward the front. In this framework a place does not make you someone else. It turns some volumes up and others down.
One thing has to be said first. Your birth time is unknown, so every angle and house in this reading was computed from a noon default. The relocated Ascendants, Midheavens and house shifts below are approximations, and this reading treats them that way: a sketch of the neighbourhood, not a survey. Even the planetary lines are drawn from that noon snapshot. The measures that hold up best regardless of the hour are the paran latitudes and the plain compass geometry out from your birthplace, and where they exist the reading leans on them.
This is not a map of where you would be happy. It describes which parts of the chart each place tends to amplify and what each would ask of you. The decision rests on things a chart cannot see.
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM
Under the noon default London puts 20°14′ Libra on the Ascendant and 26°42′ Cancer on the Midheaven. With your birth Rising unknown there is no "before" to set against it. What can be said is that this Ascendant lands in the middle of your Libra cluster, and that is the whole story of the place.
Angular planets first. Chiron at 20°50′ Libra sits 0.61° from the Ascendant. Mars at 17°10′ Libra is 3.06° from it, and Jupiter at 26°06′ Libra is 5.87°. Saturn at 4°06′ Leo is 7.39° from the Midheaven, wide and at the edge of what counts. Read the horizon and you get a Mars-Chiron conjunction rising, with Jupiter behind it.

So this is not a loose contact. It is the point where your drive and a persistent sensitivity are welded together, and both are wired into the Gemini Uranus-Node pair. Mars in Libra tends to push through other people — through partnership, negotiation, the look and balance of a thing — rather than head-on. Chiron beside it means the effort and the sore spot are never far apart: the push tends to arrive with a sense of being slightly out of step, and the tenderness tends to arrive with an urge to do something about it. Mars is also semisquare Mercury at 1.06°, so friction between what gets said and what gets done sits close to the surface. London, in this model, puts all of that on the horizon. There is a nuance worth naming. Mars at 17° rises ahead of the Ascendant at 20°, which places it on the 12th-house side of the horizon — the house of solitude, the unconscious and retreat. Neptune at 7°23′ Libra shifts into the 12th here too. A planet conjunct the Ascendant from the 12th side is still angular, but its energy tends to act before it is seen: the drive is real, but it works behind the curtain, in private effort, in things finished before anyone knew they had started. Jupiter at 5.87° from the Ascendant is softer, and it brings Venus with it: the two are conjunct natally at 2.29°. Saturn on the Midheaven at 7.39° is the weakest angular contact here, but the shift of Saturn and Pluto into the 10th house (career, public role, reputation) shows up in all three cities, and London is no exception. Jupiter rising while Saturn culminates: generosity and appetite on the horizon, structure and scrutiny on the meridian, at the same moment. Mercury Descendant crossed with Uranus IC at 50.81°, 78 km south — active. This one re-activates a natal link: Mercury and Uranus are quintile at 0.35°. The quick, exacting Virgo mind meets other people at the Descendant while Uranus sits at the base of the chart — the IC, home, roots, private foundation. The pattern suggests a place where the mind gets sharpened by company and the home base stays restless: inventive, rearranged, never quite settled.
Jupiter Midheaven crossed with Uranus Descendant at 52.30°, 88 km north — active. Public growth paired with partnership that does not follow a template.
Uranus IC crossed with Pluto Descendant at 52.50°, 110 km north — just inside orb. Roots that keep shifting, paired with relationships that carry intensity and questions of power. Treat this one as approaching rather than fully on.
Notice what repeats. Uranus appears in three of the four, and two more Uranus parans sit just outside orb further north (Uranus Ascendant with Pluto IC at 114 km, Venus Midheaven with Uranus Descendant at 161 km). Natally Uranus is conjunct the True Node at 4.69° and trine Chiron at 0.75°, so it is not a bystander in this chart. What London's latitude tends to bring forward is the Uranian thread — independence, the unconventional, the electric — running through relationships and home far more than through career.
What London would ask of you. To live with a drive that sits next to a sore spot and to let both be visible, because Mars-Chiron on the Ascendant does not hide well. To accept a home base that keeps reorganising itself, since three parans inside 110 km put Uranus on the IC or the Descendant. And to carry Jupiter and Saturn at once: to expand without pretending the structure is optional.
MUNICH, BAVARIA, GERMANY
Under the noon default Munich places 29°35′ Libra on the Ascendant and 8°01′ Leo on the Midheaven. The Ascendant has moved to the last degree of Libra, which means the last member of your Libra cluster is now the one on the horizon.
Angular planets: Venus at 28°24′ Libra, 1.2° from the Ascendant. Jupiter at 26°06′ Libra, 3.49°. Saturn at 4°06′ Leo, 3.93° from the Midheaven. Pluto at 12°19′ Leo, 4.3° from the Midheaven. Four angular planets, two on each axis, and the pair on the horizon is your natal Venus-Jupiter conjunction.
Venus rising, in its own sign. Venus rules Libra, so this is Venus at full strength: diplomacy, an eye for what is beautiful, the reflex to read a room and adjust to it. Conjunct Jupiter at 2.29° it gets bigger — more generous, more appetite, more willing to say yes. The Venus Ascendant line runs about 9 km east of Munich. Take the exact figure as a noon figure, but the point stands: in this framework Munich sits on or very near the line where Venus rises, and a stronger Venus-rising signature would be hard to find.
Now the nuance, and it is a bigger one than London's. With the Ascendant at 29°35′, Venus at 28°24′ and Jupiter at 26°06′ both fall on the 12th-house side of the horizon, and the relocated chart lists Venus, Jupiter and Mars all in the 12th — solitude, the unconscious, retreat. Venus and Jupiter are still angular; they are the first thing that engages when you arrive. But their energy tends to spend itself privately here: pleasure behind closed doors, a generosity that does not always show its accounts, ease that is felt more than displayed. Mars, at 12° from the Ascendant, is no longer angular at all. That is the biggest flip relative to London. The drive recedes, the charm comes forward, and the place tends to soften rather than sharpen.
The Midheaven carries the counterweight. Saturn at 3.93° and Pluto at 4.3°, both in Leo. The Saturn Midheaven line lies about 293 km to the west and the Pluto Midheaven line about 468 km to the east, so Munich sits between the two and the relocated meridian catches both inside 4.5°. Local space is where Munich says something no other place in this reading says. Munich lies 5,348.4 km northwest of your birthplace on a bearing of 335.44°, and that puts it on the Mercury local space line — off by 3.57°, which at this range is a miss of 334.1 km. Mercury was above the horizon at birth. Honesty about strength: 3.57° is inside the 6° orb but it is not tight, and a 334 km miss means the ray passes near Munich rather than through it. Still, it is the only compass line in this whole reading that reaches any of the three cities. Mercury in Virgo is in its own sign, quintile Uranus at 0.35°, trine the Moon at 1.94°, semisextile Saturn at 0.87°. Travelling along Mercury's ray describes a direction of language, precision, craft, detail, the working mind — and it converges with the Mercury-into-the-10th shift. Two independent measures pointing at the same planet is worth noting, even with the orbs as they are.
No paran latitude sits within 1.5° of Munich. Nothing at that scale reaches it. Its distinctness comes from longitude (the Venus line) and from the compass ray, not from latitude.
What Munich would ask of you. To let the Venus-Jupiter appetite be the way in without letting it run the accounts, because Saturn and Pluto on the Midheaven want the public role to carry real weight. To build the working mind into the public face rather than keeping it as a private habit. And to supply your own friction. Mars recedes here, and a place that softens you tends to ask for discipline the place itself will not provide.
MONTREUX, RIVIERA-PAYS-D'ENHAUT DISTRICT, SWITZERLAND
Under the noon default Montreux places 26°42′ Libra on the Ascendant and 3°28′ Leo on the Midheaven.
Angular planets: Jupiter at 26°06′ Libra, 0.6° from the Ascendant. Saturn at 4°06′ Leo, 0.63° from the Midheaven. Venus at 28°24′ Libra, 1.69° from the Ascendant. Chiron at 20°50′ Libra, 5.86°.
Two planets under one degree from opposite angles. This is the tightest angular geometry in the whole reading. Jupiter rising exactly, Saturn culminating exactly — expansion on the horizon, structure on the meridian — and the lines agree: the Saturn Midheaven line runs about 55 km to the east and the Jupiter Ascendant line about 112 km to the west. Montreux sits in the narrow band between them. The Venus Ascendant line is about 284 km east.
Jupiter first, through its natal condition. Jupiter in Libra is conjunct Venus at 2.29° and Chiron at 5.27°, and semisquare the Sun at 1.09°. Saturn on the Midheaven at 0.63° is the tightest public-angle contact anywhere in this data. Saturn in Leo, semisextile Mercury at 0.87°. In this framework the public role at Montreux tends to be a long, disciplined build: craft, endurance, restraint while being seen. Pluto at 12°19′ Leo is not angular here (8.85° from the Midheaven), but it does sit in the 10th, and Mercury moves into the 10th as well. Put the two angles together and you have Jupiter rising while Saturn culminates. That is the same pairing London gets as a paran 76 km north of the city, but at Montreux it is written into the relocated angles themselves. Generosity at the door, discipline at the top. A working retreat, in the plainest sense of both words.
Local space: no line reaches Montreux within 6°. It lies 5,439.6 km northwest of your birthplace on a bearing of 330.77°. Worth noting: that bearing is only 0.73° from London's. From where you were born, London and Montreux sit along almost the same ray, and Munich sits 4.67° east of it. The compass does not separate London from Montreux; it separates Munich from both.
One paran does reach Montreux. Sun Descendant crossed with Uranus IC at latitude 45.83°, 67 km south — active. What Montreux would ask of you. To work, because Saturn on the Midheaven at 0.63° tends to make the public role a slow, exacting construction rather than a quick win. To let Jupiter rising be generosity rather than escape, since Jupiter, Mars and Neptune are all just behind the horizon and the pull toward retreat is real. THE THREE SIDE BY SIDE
Start with what they share, because it is most of the picture. Under the noon default all three put late Libra on the Ascendant and pull Saturn and Pluto toward the Midheaven. Your Libra cluster — Neptune at 7°, Mars at 17°, Chiron at 20°50′, Jupiter at 26°, Venus at 28° — sweeps across the horizon in every one of them, and the Sun moves into the 11th in all three. The shared relocated chart, in this model, is a Venus-ruled way of meeting the world with a heavy Leo public angle behind it.
The cleanest single difference is which member of the cluster is exact on the horizon. Moving east, the Ascendant advances from 20°14′ (London) to 26°42′ (Montreux) to 29°35′ (Munich), a nine-degree sweep that changes the lead planet each time. London: Chiron and Mars — drive and sensitivity, the sharper end. Montreux: Jupiter — expansion, the open end. Munich: Venus — pleasure and relating, the soft end. Same cluster, different planet at the door.
Then the measures that do not depend on the angles.
Parans. London has four inside 110 km, three of them involving Uranus, all on the relationship and home axes. Montreux has one, Sun Descendant with Uranus IC, 67 km south. Munich has none within 1.5°. By latitude, London is the loudest and the most Uranian, Montreux carries a single clean Sun-Uranus signature, and Munich is quiet.
Local space. Munich sits on the Mercury ray from your birthplace, 3.57° off and 334 km wide. London and Montreux have no compass line within 6°. By bearing, Munich is the one that is on something, and the something is Mercury — craft, precision, the working mind.
Lines. Munich is on the Venus Ascendant line at 9 km. Montreux is between the Saturn Midheaven line (55 km east) and the Jupiter Ascendant line (112 km west). London is in the Mars-to-Jupiter band, 307 km from the Mars Ascendant line. Munich's near line is about pleasure and relating; Montreux's pair is about structure and expansion; London's is about drive.
Which drives each foregrounds, then. London foregrounds Mars and Uranus — drive with a tender edge, independence in relationship and home. Munich foregrounds Venus and Mercury — pleasure and craft, with a Saturn-Pluto Midheaven demanding that it all count for something. None of that is a ranking. A Mars-Chiron horizon is not worse than a Venus one; it is different, and whether you want drive or ease at the door depends on what the next stretch of your life is for.
THE HONEST NOTE
Where the chart genuinely distinguishes these places, and where it does not.
It does not distinguish them by relocated angles or houses in any way you should bank on. The three Ascendants span nine degrees of Libra, the house shifts are near-identical, and all of them were computed from a noon default. The same is true of the astrocartography lines: an hour of error in the birth time moves the Midheaven lines by roughly 15° of longitude, which at these latitudes is on the order of a thousand kilometres. The 9 km Venus line at Munich and the 55 km Saturn line at Montreux are noon facts. Treat them as "this region, roughly", not as pins on a map. The local space line at Munich is time-derived too, because a planet's compass bearing depends on the hour. The natal house positions, and the note that Mercury and the Sun were on the Midheaven at birth, are noon artefacts as well, which is why this reading has not used them as a baseline.
What does hold regardless of the hour: the paran latitudes, because a paran depends on the day's planetary positions and on latitude, not on the clock. The plain bearings from your birthplace, which are geography. And the natal signs and aspects — the Mars-Node trine at 0.29°, the Uranus-Chiron trine at 0.75°, the Venus-Jupiter conjunction, the Sun-Pluto semisextile at 0.13° — which are the material everything else here is built from. The one exception is the Moon: at 1°18′ Capricorn under the noon default it moves fast enough that the hour matters, and this reading keeps it out of the weight-bearing claims.
So the durable distinctions are these. London's latitude carries a dense, Uranus-heavy paran field. Montreux's latitude carries one Sun-Uranus paran, 67 km off. Munich's latitude carries none. Munich sits along a different ray from your birthplace than the other two, by roughly four to five degrees, while London and Montreux share almost the same ray. Everything else is a noon sketch that would sharpen or move if the birth time were ever recovered. If it can be found — a certificate, a family record, a hospital note — this reading becomes a different and far more precise document.

Whether a place works has far more to do with who is there, what it costs, what language you will be operating in, how far it puts you from the people you cannot do without, whether you can legally stay, what the weather does to you in February, and above all why you are considering it in the first place. Those are not footnotes to the astrology. They are the main text, and the astrology is the footnote.
What this reading can add is a description of emphasis. London tends to amplify drive, sensitivity and an independent, unsettled home life. Munich tends to amplify pleasure, craft and a public role that wants weight. Montreux tends to amplify expansion under discipline, with a home base that stays alive rather than settled. Each of those is a demand as much as a gift, and you know better than any map which demands you are ready for right now and which you would rather not take on.
